51 West Entertainment Announces First Entries Into College Sports & Faith Series



 

Tulsa, Okla. -- 51 West Entertainment is excited to announce the first two entries into its groundbreaking College Sports & Faith Series. Both are in the early stages of production with plans for release in 2025. Here's a look at each of these full length documentary films:

Husker Faith: The Spiritual Legacy of Tom Osborne & Nebraska Football

This documentary began filming late last year and has a tentative 2025 release. It revolves around the story of how Tom Osborne committed his life to Christ in the late 1950s at an Fellowship of Christian Athletes camp and brought that faith into his coaching at Nebraska where he led the Cornhuskers to three national championships. The ripple effect of his biblically motivated leadership style impact many athletes and coaches including Ron Brown, George Darlington, Gordon Thiessen, Ken Kaelin, Mike Anderson, Ricky Simmons, Chris Kelsey, Roy Helu Jr., Turner Gill, Irving Fryar, and many others, and continues today. 

Primary filming is taking place in Lincoln, Nebraska, with production assistance from Three Pillars Media. Post-production will be provided by White Wolf Creative.


Sooner Faith: The Spiritual Legacy of Oklahoma Football

This documentary begins filming this fall and has a tentative late 2025 or early 2026 release. It tells the story of Chuck Bowman, Clendon Thomas and a group of OU athletes who attended the first Fellowship of Christian Athletes camp in 1956 and established a decades long influence of faith within the Sooners locker room. Along with Bowman and Thomas, Sooner Faith will feature a wide array of confirmed athletes and coaches including Josh Norman, Matt McCoy, Bubba Burcham, etc., and other not yet attached such as Brian Bosworth, Charles Thompson, Dusty Dvoracek, Josh Heupel, Brent Venables, Tommie Harris Jr., Landry Jones, Curtis Loftin, Sam Bradford, Brandon Jones, Gerald McCoy, Tim Lashar, Mark Clayton, Chris Chester, Dewey Selmon, Lucious Selmon, J.C. Watts, and Spencer Tillman.

Primary filming is taking place in Norman, Okla., and Tulsa, Okla., with additional filming expected in the Dallas and Houston areas. White Wolf Creative is providing full production and post-production for this project.
